OUR COMMITMENTS

"FROM EARTH TO BOTTLE
My goal is to obtain highly precise plot-specific wines that reflect their soils at the same time as working towards protecting to reduce our ecological impact on our immediate environment and our raw material, the vine.
"

I am totally committed to a viticulture that is smart, considered, honest, healthy and forward-looking, that is inspired by the important agriculturists of the past and is orchestrated by a team of committed men and women.

It is pointless producing if we do not consider the impact that our actions will have on those that come after us.

Excellence is the single driving force pushing us out of our comfort zones; it prevents us from being too certain and, every day, encourages us to think differently. Climate change has been proven and as a consequence every seemingly, simple action has become food for thought.

As manager of the Famille Picard's family estates since 2007, I have had my heart set on massively restructuring our vineyard, which comprises 140 hectares of vines, with the majority established in the four villages of Montagny, Mercurey, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. The estate's size might seem considerable, however, the men and women who make up our three teams are involved in every decision. They are asked to undertake meticulous work at plot level. We encourage continuing training and extol the benefits of sharing knowledge.

Today, the whole of the estate is managed in line with organic viticulture, with 30 hectares managed biodynamically.

This is something that we are proud of and the challenge is ongoing.

ENVIRONMENT POLICY

With the aim of making a commitment to a responsible environmental policy,

we decided to create our own environmental management system, PLINE, based on the ISO 14001 standard.

We have defined 9 commitments that guide our day-to-day actions and enable us to adopt a continuous improvement approach while complying with the regulatory requirements applicable to our activities.

These commitments reflect our determination to integrate our businesses into a continuous improvement process that fully integrates environmental aspects, with particular attention paid to preserving our natural plant and animal resources.
